Paginate the Commits tab; fix-height + scroll the Ladder tab Commits always fetched a fixed 30 and silently cut off past that, with no way to see anything older. Ladder had the opposite problem: unbounded (one row per file/directory/ask/...), so a large repo's page itself grew arbitrarily tall. Commits: ?commitsPage=<n> (offset-based, fetches one extra to know whether a "next" link is warranted without a second round trip just to count) with newer/older nav, same visual style commit page prev/next already uses. A page link lands back on the repo page with #commits in the URL, which zzInitTabs now checks on load to reopen that tab specifically -- without it, every pager click would silently drop you back on whichever tab renders first. Ladder: fixed max-height with its own scrollbar (list-scroll) instead -- naturally a tree you'd want to keep open while scrolling past, not recency-ordered the way Commits is, so paging it would be the wrong shape of fix.
